There are days when all I need is a break from everyday life. After a number of days of having a sick baby boy who has been sleeping in my room and being extra needy, clingy and fussy... I need a break! I need to get out of the house! I have been reminded of Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Him who strengthens me. God has chosen me especially to care for my little guy. Caleb is a treasure. He is a joy. He is simply a baby who is sick and needs his mommy. As my good friend says, it is just for a season. This too shall pass. I am so thankful for people in my life who can help me out. When I really needed a nap the other day, my mom came by and let me sleep. Today we are hoping to get out of the house and do a little shopping (with or without Caleb). Here is what I've been doing to try to help the little man get over his cold...
-Baby Vicks on his feet
-Extra long bath time and trying to bring him into the bathroom when my hubby or I take a shower or bath for some extra steam time
-Lots of breast milk
-Sleep whenever he can get it
-Tylenol 3-4 times a day
-Elevating his bed so his nasal passages can drain a little better while he sleeps
-I've tried to use the nasal aspirator but he really fights it - to the point where I can't even get it in his nose so I've resorted to simply wiping his nose as needed with a damp cloth
What are your tried and true cures for helping little guys fight their colds?
