52 week quality time challenge (update)

A number of weeks ago I posted this list of options to help initiate quality time with my hubby. It seems like only a few weeks after I posted this, hubby went away on a mission trip to the Dominican Republic and then had some outdoor ed. trips to facilitate. Basically life got in the way of my big plans. I guess that's why it's called intentional quality time. Here is the list and the ones I can cross off...

-Make homemade pizza and watch a hockey game
-Go watch one of our youth kids play a sport
-Get take out and play a board game
-Pick up our favourite candy and watch a movie
-Cook a new recipe together
-Go out for gelato
-"Coffee" date (we don't actually drink coffee)
-Play "Would you rather" on a walk
-Give each other  a massage
-Go for a picnic
-Ethnic theme night (Italian, Chinese, Colombian, Dominican, American)
-Have breakfast in bed
-Go snowshoeing
-Review the year
-Watch a series of YouTube videos
-Go for a bike ride (attempted but my bike broke so I'm not sure if it counts)
-Go workout at the gym
-Go bouldering
-Spend some time in White Rock, BC walking along the pier and/or slacklining
-Shop for each other (each pick out an outfit or an item for the other person)
-Read together
-Play frisbee
-Go mini golfing
-Go camping
-Climb a mountain (I'm in training)
-Go for a hike
-Go swimming (vacation booked)
-Go to the beach (vacation booked)
-Dress up and go out for dinner
-Colour together
-Play a card game in a public place
-Take the little man to the park and take pictures of us all playing
-Do a project we found on Pinterest
-Re-live our first date
-Make cookies for someone else
-Watch the sunset (not the sunrise)
-Attempt to create a sibling for the little man
-Take a day trip to Seattle (suppose to be a Father's Day surprise but we went hiking instead)
-Go to Stanley Park
-Go slacklining at the park
-Have Jim's Pizza and go bouldering
-Go to the movies
-Try a new restaurant
-Walk to the park and around the park and home from the park (about 10km)
-Go trail riding
-Read together outside
-Participate in a community event
-Build a snowman with our son
-Build a sandcastle with our son
-Go on a double date
-Have a naked movie night
-Try a new ice cream recipe
-Read the Bible together
-Drink a bottle of that one wine I like (as long as I'm not pregnant or nursing)
-Buy each other a 'surprise' gift this week

Okay so there are a few crossed out but not as many as I had wanted. There may be a few complications with some of these. I am being tested for celiac so I'm not sure how the pizza and bouldering will work out. We may need to alter that one a bit. Now that school is coming to a close (Praise The Lord), I am hoping that we will have more time to spend together! I love my husband and I miss him when he's not around! I was more than a little spoiled for the first number of years if our marriage. His days as a substitute teacher were pretty short and I would also randomly have him home during the week when he did not receive a call. This is the first year where he's had a full time position and it's been an adjustment. I am extremely happy that he's been able to have this job but that does not mean I don't miss him. It makes me feel rather selfish when I don't want him to go out with his buddies in the evenings. I would simply like to spend time with him. There needs to be a balance and we are working on that.

Ciao!
