Oh my goodness! So much has happened in the last number of months and you need to be caught up...
1. We are now back in BC! I ended up coming back to BC after Christmas because I was pregnant!!!!! Matt came home the end of January. There were a few complications with my pregnancy and I was extremely sick for a number of weeks. We decided that the best thing for my health and the health of our unborn child was for us to move back to BC.
2. We bought a townhouse! It's gorgeous! Plus it is brand new! Praise the Lord!
3. Caleb Mateo was born on June 28th! It was an intense 9 hours of labour including 1 hour and 45 minutes of pushing...without pain medications!!!! But it was all completely worth it! Caleb is beautiful and perfect! When his head popped out, the umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck. As my wonderful Doctor removed the cord, it broke! Praise the Lord for my Doctor's quick reaction! He was able to grab and clamp the cord before it went back inside me plus he was able to pull Caleb out before he suffocated! Also praise the Lord I didn't know any of this was going on till it was all over and C was placed on my chest after the other doctors had checked him out.
4. Matt got a full time job teaching outdoor education along with a few other classes! He is loving his new job! Praise the Lord for His provisions! Lord willing this job will continue!
5. I am at home full-time with Caleb. Honestly, it is absolutely delightful! He is so precious and I really do cherish every moment with him! Even when he doesn't go to sleep till REALLY late and I'm exhausted and want to go to bed... nope! My job is to care for my son and what he needs in that moment is for me to stay up with him or cuddle him or just love on him. It is such a great reminder of my role right now. He has the cutest little smile! It doesn't matter how I am feeling, once I see that little smile everything is peachy!
I am sure I will revisit some of these experiences in more detail later but for now that is my quick summary of what's going on in our lives. We are experiencing a whole new world of joy-filled adventures. They are not exactly what we were expecting to be sharing in this blog when I started it, but God is in control of all things and this is so much better than what we were expecting! God is GREAT!!!!
